Azerbaijan establishes Date-plum Producers and Exporters Association
The establishment of associations was initiated by the President of the Azerbaijan Republic, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. As a result, a foundation meeting was held with the support of the Minister of Economy- Shahin Mustafayev, under the chairmanship of the Vice-President of Azpromo- Yusif Abdullayev on August 18, 2017 in Goychay with the participation of more than 50 people of palm fruit producers and exporters. At this meeting Gadir Yusif Yusifov Head of Sirachoglu Farm was elected Chairman of the Board by voting. It was registered as a public association by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2018.
The first palm fruit processing factories were established in the country in 2018
The first palm fruit processing factories were established in the country in 2018.Palm fruit factories started operating in Katekh settlement of Balakan district and in Yalman village of Goychay region with the support of the state. Both factories are exported and packaged palm fruit to foreign countries- UAE, Russia, Baltic countries, the Netherlands and other European countries in a short time. İt should be noted, from the sales of fresh harvested and processed palm fruit product 117 million dollar was entrered to our country, this is an increase of 20.6% compared to 2017.
Revenue from palm fruit sales in January and February of 2019 year was total $ 18 million.
